Zero reason to buy any Peake products in 2019 For the same money if you want to buy something like that you are waaaay better off with a Foxwell or something. They were nice in 2005, but now there are TONS of options out there. But I have never updated my scanner, and I don't think it matters.Īs others noted, You will want INPA, etc loaded on a laptop once you buy a car, but the Peake gets the job done for pre-purchase code reading.Peakes are hilariously outdated.
I think I read Peake went out of business. It's an old-style model with OBD2 adapter You need to bring the book explaining how/what the codes are -make sure it is included. Powered by the OBD2 port, It can read and clear BMW-specific codes. I look at a lot of used E39's (pass on most of them) and this is my go-to BMW scanner. They trade on Ebay, craigslist, facebook for less than $100. Make sure it is the model with an OBD2 connector, OR if it is one of the old-style 20-pin round connector (Pre- '01 cars) with an adapter cable.
